Swinburne's astronomers are taking part in Australia's new era of space research, exploring and investigating new frontiers.
Taking advantage of the opportunities to create low-cost experimental satellite-based missions, Swinburne has already partnered with Haileybury to design and launch multiple microgravity experiments to the International Space Station, and is a member of the multi-institution collaboration building the Australian SkyHopper space telescope.
As a core member of the SmartSatellite Cooperative Research Centre, and in partnership with industry, our researchers are developing solutions to the data-driven challenges posed by Earth Observation and other satellite data products.
